Where We Sail
Two Sailing Waters
Poole Radio Yacht Club is in the unique position of having access to two excellent sailing venues.
You can find us in the beautiful surroundings of Poole Park, Poole, Dorset, on the South Coast of England.
The bustling seaport of Poole is within easy walking distance with its busy harbour and shopping district.
Both Poole and nearby Bournemouth are popular holiday destinations and hotel and guesthouse accommodation is plentiful with a wide range of standards and prices.

Having 2 locations enables the club to take advantage of deeper open water at Longham Lakes and provide a championship venue for larger classes.
Poole Park Lake
The Home of Poole Radio Yacht Club
Lake details: Dimensions - about 100 x 200 m.
The Model Yachting enclosure is a part of the large boating lake in Poole Park that was formed when the main London to Weymouth railway line was constructed on an embankment that cut off part of the bay of Poole Harbour.
Thus the Lake is of salt water and is contained by a sluice that the Council open at regular intervals to clean and scour the water.
The normal depth of water in the Model Yachting Enclosure is about one metre.
There is easy access to the water from the road. There are firm concrete banks and a sturdy walkway with handrail separates the model yacht enclosure from the rest of the boating lake. We have a great clubhouse, often with tea and cakes.
